Cardano has the lowest electricity consumption (199,45 kWh/year) per node among proof-of-stake blockchain networks. That’s according to a report by the Crypto Carbon Ratings Institute, which was commissioned by AvaLabs and studied six proof-of-stake blockchains. Overall, Polkadot has the lowest total electricity consumption (70.237 kWh/year), while Solana has the lowest electricity consumption per transaction (0,166 Wh/Tx).
